It's sparkle season again and we are excited!!! I personally love gift giving and take great thought and care into spending my money on my loved ones, carefully curating the list of gifts that I want to give and trying to spend as wisely and considerably as possible. We know it's not always possible to shop small, but imagine the difference it would make if we all bought just one more gift from a small business instead of lining Bezo's pockets!
With that in mind and the fact that the UK high streets are definitely not what they used to be, we have curated our own list of small Devon based business’s that we think have some gorgeous Christmas gifting products that may just suit someone you are buying for. Dani the owner of the brand, who is a self confessed natural skincare obsessive, grew frustrated by the offerings on the market and made the decision to start making her own products at home that she knew would meet her expectations. She also creates earring, necklaces and is soon to be launching a permanent jewellery offering.
Her Wave Ring is lovingly crafted from 925 Sterling Silver and can be made to measure whatever your ring size.
We all love a bit of personalisation don't we? Well Rosie has it covered, with her incredible range of personalised wooden, mirror and acrylic decor items, there's nothing Rosie can't cut! All her products are hand made or hand finished in her Devon studio. We are head over heels in love with all of her products but the stand out ones for us are the gorgeous, keep sake worthy, personalised Christmas decorations.

Rosie takes great pride in making all of her products, everything is made from FSC certified birch plywood and beautifully sanded both sides to ensure no burn marks are left on the surface. Top notch quality only!
In Bloom Floristry is an independent florist based in Torquay, Devon. Natalie the person behind the brand offers something a little different when it comes to flowers, her bright, bold and stunning designs will catch everyones eye this Christmas and into the new year.
She also caters for events, so if you have a big Christmas bash planned why not splash out and adorn the place with florals this year?

My personal favourite, and the scent that fills my own living room is the blackberry, bay and pomegranate candle, which scent also comes as wax melts.
Katie, the business owner behind Amber Honey Home set-up the business to pursue her love of making things and being creative, with the majority of the product she sells from her shop based in Dartmouth, being handmade by herself. Her designs are often inspired by the British coastline and countryside, which she says she "is lucky enough to see everyday".

Jerne By Jodie is an independent jewellery business based in torquay, Devon, Jodie, the owner, hand curates her gorgeous collection of jewellery, which is heavily inspired by her spiritual journey, a love of crystals and their meanings. her passion is finding the perfect pieces and sharing them with others.
Our favourite item from her collection is the Star Cluster Earrings, which are the perfect piece to elevate a daytime look and add a little sparkle!! They are available in both gold and silver, so there's something for everyone.
Of course we couldn't write a gift guide for Devon's independent business's without including ourselves! So why not give the gift of knitting this year? it's three gifts in one, just hear us out... The recipient receives the knitting kit itself - already lovely, they then receive the gift of a brand new skill (instant self esteem boost) then they get to wear the finished article (not to mention the smugness when people ask where they got it from), and as if that weren't enough the positive mental health benefits knitting can create is the cherry on top of a very wooly, delicious cake!
